Girls basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · Andrea Garcia named 2019 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year

We congratulate Andrea Garcia for being named MHHS Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year! On May 21, 2019 at the Turlock Golf Club, Andie was publicly recognized along with the MHHS Male recipient–Yubi Dhillon–and the other students recognized by their schools in the Western Athletic League. I had the privilege to introduce her to the League attendees and spoke of her consistent reserved determination throughout her basketball career, highlighting how she worked on her game since her days at Bethany School. Her determination and hard work on and off the court is a reflection of the family values instilled by her parents, Elmer and Joy Garcia.

In the classroom, Andie is a 4.0 student, Senior class President and widely known on campus for her school spirit!

On the basketball court, she’s a 4 year Varsity starter, 4 year All-League selection, and leaves high school as the all-time leader in points (1372), assists (497), rebounds (482), steals (344), 3 PT % in a career, and most points in a game (36), which she achieved in her final game in the 2nd Round of the CIF Playoffs. On Thursday March 21, 2019, she played in the Central Valley Girls basketball Senior Showcase.

In the Fall, she will be attending UC Davis, majoring in Bio chemistry.

Congratulations Andie! You have made your mark at Mountain House High! Coach Reno and the Ursal family, the coaching staff and the entire MHHS basketball program is extremely proud of your accomplishments! You deserve all the accolades! Thank you for your dedication and commitment to Mountain House High!
