The Mustangs wrestled hard on Wednesday night in their dual meet against Ceres, winning 4 out of 6 matches that were wrestled. In the end, those 4 wins weren’t enough to overcome 30 forfeit points given to Ceres. Junior Kaleo Aquino got the night started for the Mustangs by dominating the 126 pound match, winning by 15 points and securing the technical fall. Junior Cannon Waters followed that up with an impressive performance of his own in the 132 pound match, winning by third round pin after being up 12-0. Senior AJ Hanifzada turned in the performance of the night in the 160 pound match, winning by pin in the first 20 seconds of the first round. Junior Jaiden Leus closed out the night for the Mustangs by winning 8-2 in the 182 pound match. The Mustangs won the Girls Dual by a score of 24-12, with most of those points coming by way of forfeits. The Mustangs went 1-1 in the two matches that were wrestled. Junior Ramona Jimenez, wrestling up a weight class, secured the victory for the Mustangs by winning the 189 pound match with an impressive first round pin. No JV matches were wrestled.
