On Thursday February 7, 2019, Mountain House High Girls Varsity basketball defeated Pacheco 65-31 in both team’s final Western Athletic League contest of the season.
Senior Andrea Garcia had 13 hard-fought points in her final career league game. Fellow seniors Taylor Tameta-Arenas (7 pts, 4 rebs) and Lalique Perkins (6 pts, 9 rebs) also had solid games. Senior Dallas Carpenter was unable to make the trip.
Among the underclassmen, Junior Natalia Raygoza-Moore’s 19 points led the team and put her in the conversation for an all-league nomination. Junior Katelyn Larson had 7 points and 5 rebounds, Kayleen Ramos (6 pts, 5 rebs), sophomores Maya Gorman (3 pts), Denise Tungol (4 pts) and Reilyn Ursal (2 assists, 2 rebs).
Mountain House finishes the WAC league season 7-7, overall record of 12-16. Due to their strength in schedule, their current D4 Sac-Joaquin Section has them on the bubble for a playoff berth. The Lady Mustangs will know for sure when the CIF Sac-Joaquin section announces official brackets on Saturday February 9, 2019, 4 PM.
