In a wild one, the varsity Mustangs won their third contest in a row, defeating old TVL foe Ripon 11-6 in eight innings. Sophomore starting pitcher Taylor Yuki rebounded from a shaky first inning to pitch 5 2/3 innings, giving up three hits and striking out nine Indians batters. He left the game up 6-4, with senior Carter Leal recording the third out of the sixth.

In the seventh inning, senior closer Noah Hering ran into some trouble, walking the first two batters while battling an extremely tight strike zone. He rebounded to get the next two hitters out on a ground ball to second base and a strikeout. With two outs, two strikes and runners on second and third, Hering induced a ground ball in between first and second base. It ended up taking a bad hop in between both fielders and rolling into right field to tie the game. However, Hering struck the next batter out, and the Mustangs showed huge heart and resolve as a team, sending 11 batters to the plate in the top of the eighth and scoring five runs. Hering recorded three more outs in the eighth for his first win of the season, and the Mustangs went home happy.

Offensively, it was truly a team effort, as six different Mustangs recorded hits and seven scored runs. Five different Mustangs knocked in runs. Senior Jacob Vales reached base four more times, continuing his hot start, while junior Kyle Dias and freshman Isaiah Castillo recorded their first varsity hits.
